Valla Church

DOCUMENTED: Valla Kyrka is among Tjörn's oldest churches, with origins in the 12th century (1100s). The building was expanded and rebuilt several times while serving as a religious centre for local families — baptisms, funerals, and community gatherings recorded across generations. The churchyard holds centuries of burials with historic grave markers; the site remains one of the island's most significant surviving medieval landmarks in a rural setting of forest and open fields.
